Wound Care/Enterostomal-Registered Nurse
Serves as a wound care nurse and clinical expert in wound care, providing consultation and education in the age-specific assessment and implementation of care and evaluation of nursing standards of clinical care for the complex, high risk, acute care, adult inpatient including support to patients' families and clinical staff. Practices within the acute care, adult inpatient units including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Telemetry, Medical, & Surgical Inpatient Services.
Essential Job Duties:
- Performs complex patient care procedures, staff and patient education, research consultation, and contributes to approved research projects.
- Participates in evaluation of new products/techniques/innovation based on practice trends and development of standards, policies, techniques, and protocols for the complex, high risk, acute care, and adult inpatient.
- Researches best practices; partners with the healthcare team to define and implement evidenced-based practice and clinical research at the bedside.
Qualifications:
- One year of directly related RN experience in acute care area of specialty or an appropriate equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
- Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association.
- Current, nationally recognized, specialty certification in wound/ostomy care or an appropriate equivalent preferred.
