Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nursing Supervisor assumes 12-hour responsibility for all department activity to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provides clinical leadership and administrative functions. Ensures the practice of established policy and procedures.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
- Current registration with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Must have BLS, ACLS, and PALS upon hire.
- 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in management and supervision preferred. Current CPI and BERT Training.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist(s). Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives established annually as listed on the Performance Evaluation Tool. Uses critical thinking skills to evaluate situations and make decisions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accident, injuries, and illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Frequent interdisciplinary contact with Administration and other health care disciplines/professionals.
