Highlights of your role:
The Physician Assistant collaborates with physicians to verify diagnosis, identify high-risk situations, and alert to changes in the patient's status, taking appropriate action. The assistant administers medication and performs procedures within the scope of practice. This position provides the patient and their family with appropriate education and follow-up care and/or referral to other health care resources.

What you’ll get to do in this role:
- Provide patient and family education based on the patient's condition and identify needs to optimize understanding.
- Provide health maintenance and disease management counseling to patients.
- Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations/assessments, and initiate admission orders.
- Participate in plans for health promotion, prevention, and maintenance for the clinic and the community.
- Provide medical management and/or other interventions for acute and chronic health problems.
- Write orders for prescription medication and/or other interventions for acute and chronic health problems.
- Order and interpret lab studies and diagnostic tests to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment as appropriate.
- Notify patients promptly of test results and collaborate with physicians to verify diagnosis and identify high-risk situations.
- Serve as a liaison and resource for physicians, healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures.
You’re an excellent fit if you have:
- Current Physician Assistant licensure, board certified to practice in MN
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current ACLS and PALS certification
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good customer service skills
