Travel Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - $2,373 to $2,447 per week in Chula Vista, CA
Pioneer Healthcare Services has an exciting job opportunity for a qualified Speech Language Pathologist SLP at a school district in Chula Vista, CA for the 2024 - 2025 school year, with the possibility to extend. As the School Speech Language Pathologist SLP, you will collaborate with staff, families, students, and the community to promote an effective educational environment in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience in the pediatric population; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of a School Speech Language Pathologist SLP:
- Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments
- Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases
- Attentive and caring with the ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills
- IEP Meetings
- Conducting assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills
- Ensuring evaluations, treatment plans, and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines
- Completing treatment notes and progress reports in a timely manner and according to school policy
- Provide therapy on site
- Reporting progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals
- Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
- Submit all billing logs and necessary information on a timely basis
Qualifications of a School Speech Language Pathologist SLP:
- Must have their CCCs
- Current BLS / CPR Certification
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of work assignment
- Experience assessing and diagnosing speech, language, voice disorders
