Mental Health Nurse Educator

Our client is a 200+bed teaching children's hospital with special units for neonatal and pediatric intensive care, cancer care, acute inpatient rehabilitation, medical and surgical care, and transitional care. As a freestanding, full-service children's hospital, every inch of our facility and all members of our medical team are devoted exclusively to the needs of young people, and our patients benefit from the full range of pediatric specialists and support services available only at freestanding children's hospitals.
They have an immediate need for a special clinical practice and education professional to help take their expanded behavioral health department to the next level.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
- Functions in advanced clinical role to provide care/education to a group of staff, patients, families and/or community.
- Individual may function in a variety of roles with specific duties for an individual department, medical specialty or program.
- Instrumental in the design, coordination, education, evaluation and/or implementation of programs related to the patient care process.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum:
- Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse / Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State License.
- Master’s degree in nursing is required. May consider a BSN for candidates with applicable experience and active enrollment in a master’s program who are within 1 year of completion from date of hire.
- Two to four years of relevant pediatric clinical experience preferred.
- Previous experience in advanced role(s) and certification in specialty practice area preferred.
- CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
