Pathologist with expertise in Molecular Pathology and Clinical Informatics Cleveland Clinic
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic seeks to build its growing expertise in clinical laboratory applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning by recruiting a pathologist with expertise in Molecular Pathology and Clinical Informatics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will draw on expertise in both disciplines, leveraging a broad spectrum of advanced analytics tools to implement solutions within molecular pathology that improve clinical and operational workflows including interpretation of complex test results. Collaborating closely with the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDS), this individual will support initiatives in research, process improvements, and clinical care enhancements. By employing AI and machine learning, they will optimize workflows and enhance diagnostic accuracy across Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This pathologist will also join our growing clinical team within the Section of Molecular Pathology and Cytogenomics to support our expanding clinical services, including interpretation of high complexity molecular testing. Candidates must have an MD or DO, be certified in AP, CP, or combined AP/CP by the American Board of Pathology and be board certified/eligible in Molecular Genetic Pathology and Clinical and/or Pathology Informatics. The successful candidate will also have or demonstrate potential to develop a regional and national reputation in Academic Molecular Pathology and/or Clinical Informatics. Experienced candidates and recent graduates with strong informatics backgrounds will be considered. An academic appointment at a level commensurate with experience and accomplishments is available through the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.
The Molecular Pathology and Cytogenomics Section provides comprehensive diagnostic and consultative services for the Cleveland Clinic Health System and serves as the central laboratory for hospitals in northeast Ohio. Our laboratories feature an expansive menu of tests focusing on constitutional genetics, pharmacogenetics, and oncology, ranging from commercially available assays to esoteric and highly complex molecular diagnostic tests. Operational cores within the section include materials handling, extraction, PCR, cytogenetics, FISH, next generation sequencing, microarray, methylation array, and epigenetics. Cleveland Clinic is a pioneer in the clinical application and interpretation of molecular testing, ensuring that every test result profoundly impacts patient care and therapy.
The Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDS) at Cleveland Clinic is dedicated to advancing AI and machine learning applications in healthcare. CAIDS supports and enhances initiatives in research, process improvements, and clinical care across the institution.
