We are a busy multi-specialty orthopedic office in need of a reliable medical assistant who can provide first-class care to our patients. You’ll be responsible for working closely with our healthcare staff to take patient histories, provide aftercare instructions, and help with examinations and/or prepare medications. Jobseekers should have great communication skills to build a great rapport with patients and have some experience with DME, orthopedics, and or pain management. Responsibilities: • Talk with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with healthcare staff • Say hello to patients when they come to the office, answer the phone, schedule appointments, and answer inquiries about prescription refills and treatment to ensure patients have a pleasant experience at our office • Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed • Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests • Complete the patient’s insurance forms in their records, notating all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions Qualifications: • Possesses basic computer skills to complete administrative tasks • Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment • Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency • Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited medical assisting program a supervised externship in a healthcare setting • Graduated from high school or received GED Compensation: $20 - $24 hourly
