The mission of the Kent Hospital PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is to facilitate the development of new pharmacists into competent practitioners who are able to provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care. The residency program is founded upon Kent Hospital’s core values of accountability, caring, and teamwork and is designed to challenge residents in clinical, academic, and leadership skills. The program offers competency development in a broad area of pharmacy practice including critical care, infectious diseases, internal medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology, ambulatory care, transitions of care, geriatrics, psychiatry, outpatient oncology, practice management and drug information. Residents may choose to complete the teaching certificate program through the University of Rhode Island.
