The Nurse Practitioner (NP/FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing primary care intervention in the Ambulatory Clinic setting, working under the supervision of the Medical Director and Manager of Clinics. Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient care and coordinating the delivery of services.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating medical care policies and procedures.
- Supervising health care professionals and support staff in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Ensuring quality patient care and advocating for the specific needs of the client population.
- Providing urgent and primary care in an outpatient setting.
- Working independently with physician back-up as required.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor Degree required.
- Master Degree preferred.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
- CA and OR NP license, DEA furnishing license.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in an ambulatory/primary care setting preferred.
Special Requirements
- Must obtain Medical Staff privileges prior to hire.
- Must understand, speak, and write English; ability to speak other languages is highly desirable.
- Update CME as required by license.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain an appropriate work pace; and get along with co-workers and the general public.
- Participate in committee meetings and maintain effective working relationships with staff and outside health service professionals.
