Summary
Our CTBO team is growing, and we are seeking talented individuals with negotiation skills to join our team at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Position Highlights:
- The Clinical Research Budget Analyst facilitates Federal, State of Florida, commercial or privately funded research activities through research award management for the pre-award and post-award phases.
- The analyst negotiates study budgets and payment terms for new awards and negotiates and optimizes budgets and payment terms for active studies to maximize financial objectives for revenue and compliance.
- This includes maintaining the budget accurately in Moffitt's CTMS system.
- The analyst ensures accurate records are maintained and in compliance with system and institutional policies, practices and governing rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret clinical research protocols and develop budgets to capture trial activity in regard and capture all research revenue items. Will partner with research management, principal investigators/faculty, Research Finance, and other team members in clinical and technical settings to ensure complete, comprehensive, accurate and timely budgets. This includes budget development to request funding, for feasibility and meeting SLA standards and documenting progress.
- Negotiate directly with commercial sponsors, academic sites, and other extramural funding sources to reach an agreement on budget and payment terms. This will include documenting progress and providing updates to affected parties.
- Will serve as a resource for Moffitt team members within the Clinical Trials Office, Research Finance, Patient Financial Services, and Moffitt Medical Group in resolving research-related billing issues.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining the budget and other financial information into Clinical Trial Management System or other software to maintain proper reimbursement and revenue integrity. Will ensure proper cost centers are used. The team member is also responsible for amending contracts to ensure compliant documents and reporting issues with efficiency tools in a timely manner.
- Conduct special department related projects as they are assigned.
- Will provide necessary information to the coverage analysis team and partner to ensure accurate costs to patients are captured in the informed consent.
- Successfully maintains quality requirements for work through established quality monitoring processes and actively participates in Audit findings resolution, when assigned.
- Meets all productivity requirements required by established department guidelines.
- Budget analyst will ensure timely and accurate entry of contracts into Symplr and remain responsive to the legal team and Symplr tasks throughout the life cycle of the clinical trial.
Credentials and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Business Administration, Nursing, Finance, Healthcare, or related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years in a clinical setting, finance, medical auditing, case management, healthcare insurance, and/or relevant experience.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree and four (4) years of experience in a clinical setting, finance, medical auditing, case management, healthcare insurance, and/or relevant experience.
