About The Centers
The Centers fights for equity by healing, teaching, and inspiring individuals and families to reach their full potential. We provide health, family, and workforce services at 11 locations throughout Greater Cleveland, creating life-changing solutions for people to lead healthier and more successful lives. Our health care services include mental and physical health care, primary care, dental, behavioral health urgent care, pharmacy services, addiction and substance use treatment, HIV/AIDS prevention and support services, along with trauma recovery service.
About the Position
We’re looking for a physician who is committed to and passionate about community healthcare. You will be providing care in our low-barrier addiction clinic, primarily serving people with opioid use disorder (OUD). This novel clinic is embedded in our behavioral health urgent care and utilizes a harm reduction philosophy. This is a Monday through Friday position with very little call.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- See individuals on a walk-in basis who are seeking treatment for substance use disorders, mainly opioid use disorder.
- Perform a comprehensive medical and substance use history and implement an individualized treatment plan.
- Provide the breadth of evidence-based treatment options for individuals with OUD, such as home- and office-based buprenorphine inductions, low-dose buprenorphine inductions, long-acting injectable buprenorphine, referrals for methadone treatment, as well as non-medication treatment options.
- Work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including substance use disorder counselors, Psychiatry, Primary Care, Nursing, Pharmacy, Harm Reduction, and Peer Support to ensure clients get the support and resources they need.
- Participate as a member of the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team.
- Provide an integrated, whole-person care approach in collaboration with cross-service providers.
- Demonstrate commitment and compassion to patients with substance use and mental health disorders.
- Serve as an internal and external subject matter expert on substance use disorders.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and partners.
This is a new model of care for The Centers, and there will be opportunities for developing and revising workflows and processes designed to serve some of the highest-risk individuals in our community.
There is an opportunity to have a hybrid role, where part of your time is spent in the low-barrier addiction clinic and part of your time is spent in our Primary Care clinic, caring for your own patient panel.
