Job Description and Duties:
Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with changing linens, ambulation, and transport. Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment. Assists during patient examinations and procedures. Obtains and records patient vital signs, provides nutritional intake, and reports results and observations. Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical and/or procedural services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.
Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current CPR or BLS. CNA, MA or other certifications preferred.
- Demonstrates necessary clinical competency.

Required Experience:
Position qualifications and requirements for the Patient Care Tech include:
- One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
- Patient interviewing skills.
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
- Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures.
- Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture and EKG.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
- Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
- Possess the ability to follow established cleaning methods in performing daily tasks.
- Must be able to keep all equipment in good working condition.
