Role Overview: Join our Operating Room (OR) team as a key member responsible for the scrub position during surgical procedures. Ensure a safe surgical environment by adhering to AORN Standards and hospital policies.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and respect towards patients, visitors, and colleagues at all times.
- Respond promptly and effectively to requests and inquiries.
- Support co-workers proactively and exhibit a caring and unhurried demeanor.
- Safeguard patient and hospital information, avoiding gossip and maintaining discretion.
- Foster positive interactions and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of others.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, embracing teamwork across departments.
- Mentor and train new and current staff, promoting professional development.
- Demonstrate proficiency in a variety of surgical procedures and equipment usage.
- Maintain a sterile and safe work environment, managing surgical instruments and equipment responsibly.
- Participate in emergency responses with precision and professionalism.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and attend staff meetings regularly.
Position Requirements:
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory, except for approved exemptions.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Washington State Surgical Technologist license.
- Obtain National Certification from the Association of Surgical Technologists within a year and maintain certification.
- CPR certification and annual recertification required.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to take call on a rotational basis, including after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrate adherence to hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
