The Nurse Coordinator for Medical Surgical will work on a medical surgical floor specializing in trauma, surgery, and oncology with over 30 beds. Primarily, the Nurse Coordinator for Medical Surgical will likely care for trauma patients with blunt abdominal/chest traumas after car accidents, falls, and mountain activities such as skiing, mountain biking, and hiking injuries. They care for patients requiring mostly abdominal surgeries including appendectomies, colon resections, hernia repairs and serve as the overflow for orthopedic trauma patients including those with hip fractures and tib/fib fractures.
The Nurse Clinical Coordinator for Medical Surgical will actively support the department Director and Manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. The Nurse Clinical Coordinator of Medical Surgical will serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff and authorize work procedures and assign duties. The Nurse Clinical Coordinator will provide input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring, and performance management of associates.
The Nurse Clinical Coordinator of Medical Surgical Telemetry will assist the Director and Manager with fiscal responsibility for the unit budgets, serve as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promote the maximum growth and development of each employee, support nursing research, and assure patient advocacy. The Nurse Coordinator for Medical Surgical will demonstrate strong clinical judgment and ensure high-quality care delivery to each patient while acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
