About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Job Specialty: Emergency Department
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM
Experience: Minimum of 1 year required
License: Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
Certifications:
- BLS Provider obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer date
- Additional certifications: PALS, ACLS, TNCC, NIH Certification, MOAB
Must-Have:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Job Description:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Work within the scope of critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a high-stress environment.
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Unit Information:
- 30-bed Emergency Department
- Average of 118 daily visits
- Not a trauma center
- Cerner EHR used
- Navy scrubs required
