Required Qualifications : High School Diploma or GED with a vocational program certificate with emphasis in Building Construction or closely related field. Must have one (1) year of related work experience in a building construction environment.
Desired Qualifications: Associate degree preferred.
Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 20 hours per week for fall and spring semesters. This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $16.20 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Key Responsibilities : This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.
- Prepares/set up construction lab for students as requested by faculty.
- Assist faculty and students with the operation of lab equipment.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot lab equipment for optimal performance.
- Ensure the security of the labs, lab equipment and classrooms.
- Supervise lab activities to ensure compliance with established lab rules and guidelines
- Assist faculty in setting up and coordinating tests and exams.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must be able to relate and work with faculty and students individually and in groups.
- Must be able to exercise good judgement and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in a multi-task environment maintaining positive customer relations.
- Must supervise students in a lab environment.
- Must maintain, repair and handle tools and tools supplies, as well a demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures for students.
- Ability to use a computer, and understand communications, instructions, regulation and procedures.
