Pediatric Physician Assistant – Orthopaedics
Phoenix Children’s has opened a brand-new hospital in the Northwest Valley of Arizona. We are committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the well-being of our pediatric patients.
Clinical Duties:
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients.
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnose orthopedic conditions, and develop treatment plans.
- Majority of clinical care will take place at our Arrowhead and Main Hospital campus. o Assist in surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care. o Educate patients and families on treatment options, recovery, and preventive measures.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as trauma, neuromuscular conditions, scoliosis, and sports medicine.
Leadership and Education:
- Lead and mentor a team of healthcare professionals, fostering growth and development with the expansion of the new location.
- Participate in training programs for medical staff, residents, and students in our new facility.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in pediatric orthopedics and share knowledge with colleagues.
Quality Improvement:
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the orthopedic department.
- Implement evidence-based practices and protocols.
Community Engagement:
- Engage with the local community through educational workshops, seminars, and outreach programs.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (typical hours, subject to change).
Call/After-Hours Requirements: Currently no call or after-hours duties, but anticipate future changes.
Qualifications:
- Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a focus on orthopedics, orthopedic or pediatric orthopedic experience a plus.
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date
- Valid state license and national certification.
- Experience in pediatric orthopedics preferred but not required (new graduates are welcome).
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
