Position Overview:
The Reproductive Medicine and Immunology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Sciences Department, at Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, is offering a prestigious two-year Clinical Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Immunology. This fellowship provides an exceptional opportunity for a graduating OB/GYN resident or junior faculty member to gain extensive clinical and research experience and become a nationally recognized expert in managing complex cases involving early pregnancy loss, recurrent pregnancy losses, implantation failures, and complicated pregnancies with autoimmune, alloimmune, and rheumatic conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care within the scope of clinical privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment of patients, development and implementation of treatment plans, and interpretation of obstetrical and gynecological imaging.
- Perform history and physical examinations, order and interpret tests and therapies, and manage patient discharge and follow-up care.
- Conduct and complete a research project aimed at advancing the field of reproductive immunology.
- Engage in clinical rounds, seminars, and conferences, and maintain timely and accurate medical records.
- Educate staff, students, and patients, and perform obstetrical and gynecological procedures as required.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff to learn and apply immunological assays.
- Participate in rotations with other specialties including reproductive endocrinology and infertility, maternal-fetal medicine, minimally invasive surgery, and rheumatology.
Educational Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school (foreign or domestic).
- Completion of a minimum of four years of approved residency training in obstetrics and gynecology within the U.S. or Internationally.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated expertise in patient care with a diverse population.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and all members of the medical staff.
- Availability for rotating on-call duties.
