The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) is seeking a full-time, on-site Patient Registration Representative to join our team in our Wichita, KS office.

What does this position entail?
Professionally greets and welcomes patients and their friends/family. Answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls to appropriate personnel relaying messages between patients and clinical staff. Is a first point of contact for new patients to successfully register demographics, documents, and insurance in our systems. Conducts routine demographic and insurance verification with established patients. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.
Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:
- Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Collects, proofs for completeness, and scans/files patient forms and appropriately attaches into EMR or PMS system, while following workflow steps.
- Updates demographics and insurance information in the system.
- Collects co-pays and balances; provides receipt. Answers phone calls in a prompt, courteous, professional manner.
- Answers, screens, and responds to routine business office-related questions via phone, electronic communications, or face-to-face contact, or routes to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages.
- Provides general administrative support by scanning/filing charts and forms or ensuring they are sent to the appropriate department/personnel for filing and scanning. Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Maintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities.
- Maintains registration queue.
- Scans and copies updated insurance, co-pay, and identification cards.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
- Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the position will have the following qualifications:
Education and or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one (1) year front medical office experience required.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
- Experience using a PMS and/or EMR is a plus.
