Overview:
Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center location in Princeton, MN.
We’re offering an up to $6,000 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000!
As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.
Schedule: This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day/evening rotating shift. This position will also work a weekend rotation as needed.

- We are searching for a positive team player who is open to learning new skills to join our family-like atmosphere in the OR.
- We currently have 4 Operating Rooms and 2 Procedure Rooms.
- Call is 20-minutes and we do have call rooms available.

Responsibilities/Job Description:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for:
- Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items.
- Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.
- Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens.
- Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments.
- Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment.
- Modifying clinical interventions based on population served.
- Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
- Anticipating the surgeon’s needs.
- Following appropriate action in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Complete one of the following by hire date:
- Military Surgical Assistant; OR
- LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR
- Surgical Technologist training
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date)
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire
- 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience

- Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions.
