Job Summary:
As a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), you will work with individuals of all ages who have communication and swallowing disorders. Your main goal will be to assess, diagnose, and treat these disorders to improve your client's quality of life and ability to communicate effectively.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to diagnose communication and swallowing disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans to address speech and language deficits
- Provide therapy sessions to improve communication skills, including articulation, language, fluency, and voice
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and family members to provide comprehensive care
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Keep detailed records of client progress and treatment plans
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- State licensure or certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages and backgrounds
- Experience working in a clinical or school setting is preferred
