Current Need
Reporting to the Sr Director of Provider Engagement, the Strategy and Optimization Director is a Senior Specialist role who is responsible for executing against GPO performance objectives within a region. The role is a subject matter expert who works collaboratively with identified groups of Onmark practices and sales teams to implement processes and procedures that ensure the delivery of high-quality comprehensive GPO engagements. Additionally, this role must work collaboratively with Clinical Services, Analytics, and Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) teams to ensure full potential within a complex healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing against GPO performance objectives for a set group of highly engaged strategic customers within a region.
- Works directly with C suite and physicians to build strategic plans that align with the practice goals and the economic success of the GPO contracts available.
- Drives strategic initiatives and delivers results for members.
- Identifies success factors and strategies to drive enhanced performance on the Onmark contract portfolio.
- Understands, builds and delivers economic comparisons for understanding contract landscape and full optimization opportunity.
- Responsible for Optimization activity that delivers against those objectives for engaged strategic customers.
- Executes against quarterly Coordinated Aggregate buy-in strategies working with multiple groups to ensure success.
- Manages compliance and discussion regarding differentiated contract offerings.
- Builds content and delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Leads complex projects to improve value, innovate offerings, streamline efficiencies, and improve customer experience.
- Works collaboratively with Sales, Clinical Specialist Teams, MID, and other internal stakeholders to drive contract performance and provider engagement with the GPO Services business.
- Partner with Business Development Directors to provide contract insights to our biopharma partners.
- Provide key performance indicator information and other metrics demonstrating Onmark/Unity contract and membership performance.
- Develops and coaches new & tenured sales teams on GPO market landscape and dynamics.
- Supports Regional distribution sales in new business development and retention efforts.
- Participation in manufacturer meetings.
- Presents to small and large groups on GPO strategies and market dynamics.
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
Education
Bachelors degree required (in Business, Management Science, Mathematics or Economics).
Critical Skills
- 7+ years relevant healthcare experience.
- 3+ years sales, consulting or provider engagement experience preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience in business analysis, and strategy development in management consulting, technology, or consumer-packaged goods environment.
- Previous Group Purchasing Organization experience is a plus.
- Healthcare experience required, specifically Oncology experience highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
- Strong service selling, service delivery and client relationship skills.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
- Previous experience working with or for pharmaceutical manufacturers is a plus.
- Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
- Strong project leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact.
- Proven ability to establish, enhance and manage customer relationships and leverage those relationships to drive revenue and profit.
- Highest level of presentation skills with large groups.
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$92,900 - $154,900
