Position: Travel Tech - Ultrasound Technologist - General
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Weekly Pay: $2,977
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks | 36 Hours | Nights 7p-7:30a
Start Date: 11/11/24
Responsibilities:
- Accurately assess patients.
- Collect current symptoms and detailed patient history, consulting and coordinating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Perform triage, considering both physical and psychosocial elements.
- Manage basic life support needs and stabilize patients until the attending physician is available, based on nursing standards and protocol.
- Initiate corrective action whenever monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
- Record patients' current vital signs.
- Work directly under physicians, assisting during exams, diagnostic testing, and treatments.
- Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and record prescribed medications.
- Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
- Provide IV therapy and basic bedside care.
- Maintain proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment to care for patients.
- Work effectively with the healthcare team.
- Initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
- Educate patients on managing their illness/injury, including post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and rehabilitation, as well as provide referrals to other healthcare professionals for follow-up treatment.
- Display professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
- Record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
Submission Requirements:
- 2+ years of current Ultrasound/Sonographer experience - Required
- Contrasting experience
- Arterial/Vascular experience
- Previous Travel - Preferred
- Bachelor Degree - Preferred
- ARDMS cert disciplines must include AB, OB/GYN, and RVT
- Experience with 1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester, fetal anatomical, baby heads, spines/hips, vascular including venous doppler and abdomen
