Overview: The Director of Clinical Services will oversee the clinical operations, ensure high-quality service delivery, and support the professional development of clinical staff. This leader will be responsible for the supervision of clinical programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering an environment focused on holistic, client-centered care. The Director of Clinical Services will collaborate with other departments to implement strategic initiatives, evaluate clinical outcomes, and drive continuous improvement within the organization.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to clinical staff.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
- Foster a culture of professional development by offering mentorship, training, and continuing education opportunities to clinical staff.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical programs, including mental health counseling and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with senior management to design and implement new clinical initiatives that address the evolving needs of the community.
- Monitor client outcomes through data analysis and quality assurance processes, ensuring clinical services meet the highest standards of care.
- Ensure culturally competent, trauma-informed, and evidence-based practices are integrated into service delivery.
- Ensure that clinical documentation is timely, accurate, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Regularly review and audit client files, treatment plans, and billing documentation to maintain compliance.
- Implement and oversee performance improvement plans when necessary to maintain high standards of care.
- Lead and prepare the agency for audits and inspections by licensing and accrediting bodies.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including healthcare providers, schools, law enforcement, and other social service organizations.
- Represent the agency at community meetings, events, and stakeholder forums to enhance visibility and partnerships.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance) to align clinical operations with organizational goals and budgets.
Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use of computer and telephone systems which includes coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, working with files). Requires talking, seeing, hearing, and reading; expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, receiving and communicating detailed information through oral communication, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance, must be able to read and understand text. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
- Must have the ability to understand and follow oral instruction, to understand and follow written instruction, to guide and/or give instruction, and to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies. Requires the ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions.
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related mental health field.
- Current Iowa licensure.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical leadership role within a mental health or social services agency.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing trauma, addiction, or severe mental illness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, clients, and community partners.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical documentation systems.
- Proficiency in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally competent care approaches.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
