This is an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) job opening.
Both qualified NP and PA applicants will be considered.

A total of one (1), 0.5 FTE Advanced Practice Professional (either NP or PA) will be hired to fill this job opening.

Salary range: $116,239- $178,620/ year

Responsibilities*
Basic Function and Responsibility
Provide medical care and treatment under the direction and responsibility of a physician. Care will be provided in an Ambulatory Care clinic setting serving an adult patient population.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively evaluate and manage the care of adult general Urology, Neurourology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, and Endo Urology patients.
- Provide care as directed by your supervising physician and established practice guidelines/protocols.
- Obtain a relevant health and medical history.
- Perform a physical examination based on age and history.
- Conduct preventive screening procedures based on age and history.
- Identify actual and potential health problems and needs.
- Formulate the appropriate diagnoses based on the history, physical examination, and clinical findings.
- Establish priorities and a mutually acceptable plan of care.
- Order appropriate diagnostic tests and laboratory tests.
- Provide education to patients regarding their urologic care.
- Document care according to Michigan Medicine standards.
- Work collaboratively with supervising physicians, other advanced practice providers, and clinic personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
NP Requirements
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current DEA registration required.
- BLS certification.
PA Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by ARC-PA.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
- Current DEA registration required.
- BLS certification.
NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.
Desired Qualifications*
- At least one (1) year of working full-time experience in an Advanced Practice role in Urology.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
Work Schedule
Hours: 20 hours
Shift/Hours: Days Monday – Friday.
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Physician Assistants of Michigan Medicine.
