Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider.
Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site with travel provided to and from Anchorage, AK to our Red Dog site.
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Safety & Health, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides a variety of occupational, emergency, and non-emergency medical services for Red Dog Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Promote and ensure a safe work environment and safety-conscious workforce by supporting and following safety initiatives, procedures, and activities.
- Lead the medical staff team. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship of the Occupational Health Technicians and Medical Clerks.
- Operate a medical treatment facility to ensure that injured or sick employees are provided with proper care. Provides routine medical treatment during clinic hours and is on call 24 hours per day for emergencies.
- Prepared and ready to respond to and lead all emergency trauma incidents or seriously ill individuals with the assistance of the medical staff and volunteer medical emergency.
- Coordinate emergency MedEvac flights including communication with the Collaborating Physician (for Physician Assistants) and receiving Emergency Department Physicians as well as law enforcement when needed.
- Write and maintain thorough and accurate patient charts of all encounters, surveillance testing, services, incidents, or illnesses.
- Responsible for ensuring the coordination and scheduling of occupational health visit screening exams and ensuring mandated record-keeping requirements and follow-up results.
- Responsible for timely and proper handling, collecting, manifestation, and shipping of specimen collection for submission to Quest Laboratories.
- Responsible for ensuring response to after-hour post-incident drug & alcohol impairment testing.
- Ensure orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; ensures inventory levels of medications and supplies are maintained; Ensures quality control measures and completion of required logs and equipment such as vaccine cold chain logs, eyewash logs, emergency/crash carts, controlled substances, and other required checks.
- Complete and maintain all required professional and organization certifications and licensure.
- Engage and facilitate medical staff meetings.
- Provide health and wellness coaching and guidance to employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider (APP. Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) program.
- Demonstration of maintenance of any continuing professional education requirements.
- Current State of Alaska License & NCCPA certification.
- Current ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and DEA certifications.
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a proactive, consciously customer service-oriented team.
- Effective time management skills, organization skills, and flexibility to meet the needs of our patients and clinic staff.
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and a sense of urgency with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to operate in a strict climate of confidentiality and discretion, following HIPAA protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn and use Teck’s Electronic Medical Record and Occupational Hygiene systems.
- Very good oral and written communication, editing, organization, and interpersonal skills are a must.
