Job Title: Radiation Therapist
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist. They work closely with medical staff to ensure the safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy while providing compassionate care to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for radiation therapy procedures
- Position patients for accurate treatment delivery using immobilization devices
- Operate radiation therapy machines to deliver prescribed doses of radiation
- Monitor patients during treatment to ensure safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other medical professionals to develop treatment plans
- Educate patients about radiation therapy procedures and potential side effects
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or related field
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
- State licensure as a Radiation Therapist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to patient care
- Knowledge of radiation therapy equipment and procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
