Job Summary and Qualifications
The Pediatric Registered Nurse is a clinically competent practitioner providing safe and effective care to the pediatric population. The Pediatric RN is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan.
What you will do in this role:
- You will work collaboratively with the clinical medical provider to empower children and their families to make informed decisions regarding their health care.
- You will provide education to the patient and/or parent/guardian in a manner that the recipient understands.
- You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
- You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
- You will check rooms daily for necessary supplies.
- You will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls.
What qualifications you may need:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associates Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
- A current AHA or American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Health Care Provider is preferred.
- Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience with pediatric patients preferred.
