This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Classification Management.
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent in this position is expected to perform duties related to regulatory responsibilities, including developing, implementing, and coordinating audits of classification processes and standards statewide.
- Under the direction of the Audit Supervisor, perform unannounced on-site audit activities to assess the adequacy of internal controls, records, policies, procedures, and processes in place at each institution.
- Perform and control the full audit cycle, including risk management and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Conduct independent audits and reviews supporting the Department and Classification Management’s internal audit plan.
- Document the audit process and prepare an audit findings memorandum.
- Prepare and present reports that reflect the audit’s results and document processes.
- Maintain open communication with institutional management and audit unit staff.
- Assist with developing, implementing, and coordinating policies, procedures, and standards for statewide audits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of experience in classification and/or security.
- Two years of supervisory experience within a correctional setting.
- Five years of experience using a database within a correctional setting.
- Experience auditing standards within a correctional setting.
