Under administrative supervision of the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, responsible for assessment, implementation and evaluation of administrative operations to deliver efficient and effective delivery of patient care services to nursing and/or ancillary department. Responsible for operations of department. Works in collaboration with Management team to ensure delivery of patient care services is efficient, with high quality outcomes. Acts as a department representative for internal and external customers. Responsible for hiring, directing and evaluating designated management staff members. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
- Demonstrates current knowledge and level of expertise required to perform the administrative duties of the designated departments.
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate interdepartmental changes reflected by measurable evaluation.
- Knowledge to promote innovative structures, as documented in annual department strategic plan.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop, monitor and maintain operational and administrative reports as per TGH and regulatory policy.
- Knowledge and execution of regulatory requirements and practices for designated departments.
- Plans, provides and maintains a safe environment for patients, staff and families.
- Develops, reviews, communicates, and implements appropriate policies and procedures, annually, or as needed.
- Provides for the effective delivery of services through satisfactory surveys or TGH monitors.
- Develops, monitors and maintains departmental records as per TGH and regulatory policy.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, as evidenced by satisfactory inspections.
- Knowledge of the qualifications and performance standards for all staff.
- Participates and promotes continuous improvement as measured by performance improvement plans and quality management reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required
- Masters Degree in Nursing Preferred, Business Administration Or Health Administration
- RN License Issued by Florida or Compact State
Work Experience and Additional Information
- Five (5) years of nursing experience with three (3) years in a leadership role.
