Pre-op/Pacu RN
Under the direct supervision of the Peri-op Services Manager and the Pre-Op/PACU Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for:
- Implementing all physician orders and providing continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
- Continually evaluating the patients’ condition and ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Assisting physicians in patient care areas with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
- Implementing the Pre-Surgical Checklist, the Post Anesthesia Care record, nursing care plan, and the assimilation of the patient’s hospital record.
- Ensuring safe discharge or transition to the next appropriate level of care.
Required Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a hospital setting.
- Critical Care experience preferred.
- Current Arizona Nursing License.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with good organizational habits.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and possess a strong knowledge base relative to surgery.
