The Business Development Manager position (Italian Segment) will perform the following duties:
- Maintain established profit margins on accounts and manage monthly bid evaluations
- Ensure delivery of products to customers to meet acceptable customer expectations
- Establish and maintain a profitable member base of assigned member accounts in conjunction with the SVP of Business Development
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with members while promoting local and corporate entities.
- Maintain and grow business with existing multi-unit customers.
- Prospect for and sell new multi-unit customers where designated.
- Maintain established profit margins on accounts and manage monthly bid evaluations
- Ensure delivery of products to customers to meet acceptable customer expectations
- Maintain relationships with vendor management within their region.
- Implement new sales programs and strategies with member base
- Be responsible for developing and achieving an annual business plan in conjunction with the SVP of Business Development.
- Determine pricing strategies at appropriate profit margin levels
- Monitor the competition
- Communicate with customers and personnel regarding process issues
- Keep adequate sales records and materials necessary to make professional sales presentations.
- Maintain a strong working product knowledge, current product literature, and selling skills.
- Inform management continually of current market conditions and competitive changes in the marketplace.
- Attend branch sales meetings, seminars, and other designated meetings, and work with vendor management as directed by the SVP of Business Development.
- Review market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates and develop sales campaigns to accommodate goals of the company.
- Establish yearly goals and objectives with each member in the region using independent judgment and discretion.
- Promote and sell Preferred Vendor Programs to maximize optimum profitability.
- Promote and sell Corporate Brands.
- Promote and sell Marketing Programs.
- Formulate and effectuate Company policy with respect to regional sales functions and manage the region using independent judgment
- Submit required reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the SVP of Business Development or other management.
- Interface with Global Accounts to promote and increase both new and existing account penetration and discretion
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
4 years of foodservice sales / marketing experience.
Knowledge of Italian cuisine and culture
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors: Sales / Marketing or related area
5-10 years of foodservice sales / marketing experience.
2 years of Italian foodservice segment experience.
Proficient in food cuttings involving Italian segment products.
Active knowledge of the Georgia and South Carolina restaurant scenes and trends.
General understanding of restaurant operations including back of the house operations.
