Job Summary / Purpose
Operates various types of physiological monitoring equipment within the lab. Scrubs at tableside. Operates Radiographic Equipment.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Exhibits and shares knowledge of policies and procedures. Acts as mentor and preceptor to new technologist.
- Knowledgeable and demonstrated competency of diagnostic procedures.
- Knowledge and demonstrated competency in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath's, peripheral, neuro, and EP procedures.
- Knowledgeable in the performance of Electrophysiological studies.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of Physiological Monitoring system for diagnostic, interventional studies. Accurately enters and records pertinent patient data, documents events, and calculates valve areas.
- Measures and documents pressure recordings.
- Keeps an accurate log of events, to include medications, hemodynamics, supplies, and procedures performed.
- Troubleshoots problems and unusual events and reports them to the supervisor.
- Scrubs at tableside assisting physician with procedure.
- Able to take Scrub Call Independently and assist Physicians in acute MI and Stroke procedures on unstable patients.
- Knowledgeable of various Stents, their accurate preparation and deployment.
- Knowledgeable Thrombectomy procedures, including preparation and deployment.
- Knowledgeable and demonstrates competency in the insertion of in critically ill patients.
- Knowledgeable of Intravascular Ultrasound theory and application to include system set up and operation.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and ability to maintain a sterile field while assisting the physician in performing the procedures.
- Operates Physiological Monitoring system for Diagnostic, EP, Neuro, and Interventional studies.
- Accurately enters and records pertinent patient data. Measures and documents pressure recordings. Keeps an accurate log of events, to include medications, hemodynamics, supplies, and procedures performed.
- Calculates valve areas.
- Troubleshoots problems and unusual events and reports them to supervisor.
- Management of financial resources.
- Cleans, stocks rooms, puts away supplies and equipment, uses supplies and equipment properly and economically, and submits appropriate and accurate charges.
- Interpersonal communication skills.
- Communicates with co-workers, physicians, vendors, and visitors in a manner reflecting SJRHC's Core Values.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members of varying capabilities and training.
- Assists with special projects and assignments.
- Participates in facilitating the efficient and effective operations of the Cardiac Cath Lab including transporting and transferring patients, cleaning rooms, communicating accurately and promptly, and working to achieve efficient turnover times and accurate, prompt AM starts. Accurately collects pertinent data and enters into the database.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Education: Associates Degree
Required Licensure and Certifications
CVT or RT, or the combination of ACLS plus demonstrated proficiency in the performance of scrubbing CCL procedures; ACLS
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
Must be able to take call and return to hospital within 30 minutes.
