Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool Critical Care unit, you will provide care to a variety of patients throughout our Hospital. Staffed with a team- oriented group of caring clinical professionals our Pool RN’s float to our Critical Care, Emergency Room and Step Down floors.
About this unit:
- You have proven to be proficient as a registered nurse and are now looking for a new way to sharpen your skills. As part of our site RN Float Pool, you will be lending your knowledge and experience to ICU, ER and Step-Down units. Meeting new colleagues, observing different techniques, and keeping your specialty skills in use will add to the upward momentum of your RN journey.
- Premium pay plus shift differentials.
- Shift commitment - 6 shifts out of 6 weeks, 2 shift must be a weekend shift
- Critical Care units - ED, ICU, PACU, Step-Down
Responsibilities:
- The role of the Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director of the department to which the RN is assigned for his or her shift.
- The Registered nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
- The Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool position provides care for acutely ill patient in units as determined by the Float Pool agreement.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Graduate of school of nursing required. BSN preferred.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
- Must have at least two (2) years RN experience in an acute care hospital in Med/Surg, PCU or ICU specialty areas.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU.
