Job Summary
The incumbent facilitates the registration process by obtaining and entering patient data, and maintaining statistical data while ensuring accurate and prompt service to all patients. The accurate registration of patients at Mon Health Medical Center is essential to the admission, billing, and patient care process. Since registration is the first encounter patients have when entering Mon Health Medical Center, it is expected that courtesy, friendliness, and a helpful manner is demonstrated at all times. The incumbent is responsible for the technical component of registration and processing departmental reports to ensure accurate accounts and up-to-date information is available and also for testing any new modalities or upgrades to the system. Training of all new employees will be the responsibility of the incumbent to ensure experienced, competent personnel are dealing with the customer. The incumbent will work closely with the Director and advise of any system problems, training issues or trending in errors. The incumbent performs all duties with the department and follows departmental and hospital policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate proficiency of Patient Access with accuracy and strategic planning working with the multiple disciplines in Scheduling/Pre-Clearance/Registration/Order flow management.
- Meets productivity standards that have been established for the position and/or department. Prioritizes multiple tasks. Completes assignments per protocol or as directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently and/or negligible amounts constantly. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Hearing (aid permitted)-must be able to function without use of lip reading. Visual acuity (corrected)- keen for both distant and near objects/individuals (i.e. ability to read small print). Strong working knowledge of pre-service patient access. Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical setting. Requires critical thinking skills, analytical skills.
