The Department of Agriculture is on the lookout for a qualified veterinarian to fill a licensed position that involves offering specialized veterinary knowledge in the field of regulatory medicine. This role will also include conducting essential test barn operations, specifically during pre-race and post-race periods at Meadows Racetrack. This role entails overseeing all operations, processes, and staff within the detention barn, where urine and blood samples are collected for both pre-race and post-race evaluations of horses. The Veterinarian holds the responsibility for the administration of medications to the horses.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Part-time (per diem) employment.
- Work hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday.
- Work schedule is vendor controlled and is determined by the racing schedule.
- Salary: This position is per diem; the daily rate of pay is $400.00.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Graduation from a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor program.
Special Requirement:- Possession of a valid license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
Post Employment Requirement:- If the employee is not licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania, employee must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within twelve (12) months of being hired.
Additional Requirements:- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
