Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the scheduling, performance, and quality of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Performs examinations according to established protocols set forth by the medical director.
- Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with hospital policies/procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
- Performs quality control and maintenance on all department equipment.
- Records and maintains disposal log of radioactive materials.
- Provides education and training to other technologists, physicians, residents, students, hospital ancillary personnel, and other personnel as needed.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is preferred. Epic software or similar EMR software is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Education: Graduate of accredited school of Nuclear Medicine is required.
- Certification: Must hold active certification as a Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine, either with ARRT(N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Ohio Department of Health (ODH) licensure is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Years of relevant experience: 2 years in Nuclear Medicine and 1 year in PET-CT preferred.
- Years of experience supervising: None.
