Location: New Rochelle, NY
Position: MCRT Clinician - LMSW, LMHC or LCSW
Hours: M-F 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Rate of Pay: $65,000 LP - $75,000 (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT or LMSW)
Position Summary: The Guidance Center of Westchester’s Mobile Crisis Response Teams (MCRT) in New Rochelle and Mt. Vernon act as Emergency First Responder Providers for those in the community experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis, including suicide risk. The calls come from Police who have received 911 calls for assistance, and there is close collaboration with the corresponding Police departments. The Mobile Crisis Response teams will be prepared 24/7 to respond to crises in person or, when appropriate, by telephone.
Position Responsibilities:
- Dispatch to mental health crises in New Rochelle and Mt. Vernon.
- Assess, engage, de-escalate, and stabilize people and situations.
- Help people get linked to services.
- Interface with community leaders, police departments, and providers.
- Assessment of behavioral health symptoms and crisis-related needs.
- Development of a safety plan or crisis prevention plan.
- Work in compliance with Mobile Crisis Response Team, agency, and regulatory procedural guidelines.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree and New York State Licensure as an LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC required.
- Unlicensed Clinicians can be considered.
- Skills in clinical triage and assessment of emergency, urgent, and routine calls.
- Familiarity with Westchester resources to support a variety of complex needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and demeanor.
- A passion for engaging with community members as well as team members.
