Lead, develop and motivate clinical specialist service employees to deliver unsurpassed patient care, physician/allied health professionals service and technical expertise in the hospital, OBL, ASC and Vein Clinics and other care settings. Partner with area and district management teams to achieve AOP, revenue targets, inventory, and expense goals for assigned geography. Drive execution of key PVH OU initiatives to achieve sales, OU and Area/District level goals. Lead PVH service-related activities and programs to efficiently optimize resources, deliver customer value and deliver exceptional service.
A DAY IN THE LIFE: POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Support Leadership:
- Working Managers, managing territory case coverage responsibilities in addition to managing clinical specialists in a District.
- Lead all area and district clinical support related activities and programs to efficiently optimize resources, deliver customer value and deliver exceptional clinical guidance.
- Partners with sales team to drive key clinical support initiatives and provide assessments via periodic business reviews that highlight the value of PVH clinical/service support to our customers.
- Work with area and district and national leadership to align resources based on business priorities and appropriate clinical support demands.
- Lead and drive changes focused on strengthening of PVH acumen, prioritization of understanding and implementation of expanded PVH solutions to the customer, and customer engagement.
- Collaborate with sales team and additional key stakeholders to coordinate and execute strategies to achieve PVH business objectives.
People Management:
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to direct reports; provides regular performance reviews and implements corrective actions where necessary.
- Leads regional Clinical Specialists to execute on key goals and objectives.
- Assist employees with goal setting, performance reviews, and individual development planning (IDP’s).
- Responsible Clinical Specialist recruiting and hiring. Continually work to maintain a strong, diverse bench of Clinical Specialist talent for future hiring opportunities.
Sales Support:
- Understands national, regional and territory sales objectives. Works in partnership with District Sales Managers and Leadership team to achieve/exceed goals.
- Serves as effective Medtronic PVH representative to physicians and support staff regarding Medtronic PVH products, service and support.
- Promotes the safe and effective use of Medtronic PVH products and related procedures.
Business Operations:
- Business Discipline: Sales support, inventory/OPC, credentialing, expense management, data privacy, and PO pendings.
- Ensure efficient, effective use of inventory, expenses, and assets.
- Apply Customer Focused Quality Concepts.
Technical Support/Clinical Support:
- Represents Medtronic PVH during procedures to provide clinical guidance, technical assistance, and customer engagement.
- Receives technical inquiries by customers and team. Researches and supports resolution for solutions to questions or problems.
Educational Support:
- Partner with education team and internal resources to facilitate and lead the training of new and tenured field personnel.
- Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on PVH products and procedures (e.g. one-on-one training sessions, in-service education programs, seminars and/or outside symposiums).
- Supports and provides training and resources for hospital and Alt Sites of Service staff to enable them to conduct training for their personnel.
MUST HAVE: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of successful healthcare experience in a hospital, clinic or medical device company or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience in PVH OU.
NICE TO HAVE: DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Sales experience in medical devices, capital equipment sales, surgical sales and/or pharmaceuticals.
- Degree in biological science or business preferred.
- Must be able to meet hospital vendor compliance requirements.
- Business to business sales experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in operating room, hospital, and physician’s office protocol/conduct.
- Excellent verbal and listening skills.
- Ability to teach and educate medical personnel, peers and technical support personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive results.
- Presentation skills.
- Business planning skills.
- Computer PC literate.
- Demonstrated ability to embrace the use of technology and applications (i.e. iPAD, SalesForce.com) to provide an effective selling experience.
- Must be willing to travel, some overnight travel potentially required (50%).
- Top 10% past performance / President’s Club or equivalent.

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
Work and Travel Requirements
- Available/willing to work/travel weekends and evenings.
- This position requires on-call time.
- Continuous verbal and written communication.
- Ability to transport product/equipment from car to hospital.
- Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day.
- Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation.
- Ability to travel extensively with ease (approx. 50% of time).
- Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within assigned territory.
- Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application.
