Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
What you will do in this role:
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
- Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED).
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
- Routinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment.
- Routinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests.
- Routinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations.
- Assumes the responsibility of charging the department, as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and Certification.
- Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) and Certification within 6 months of hire.
- One year experience in Emergency Services (ED) (ER) (FSED).
