About The Position

Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience
License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
Must-Have: Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
Job Description:
- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs for self-improvement and education.
- Utilize patient education materials relevant to the patient population.
- Assess the readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers.
- Evaluate expected patient outcomes and seek guidance as needed for revising the care plan.
- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care in a team setting.
- Demonstrate competence in addressing complex patient problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and utilize healthcare standards and policies in delivering patient care.
- Collaborate with appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues or high discharge planning needs.
- Participate in professional growth activities and intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
- Engage in promoting cost-effective and safe care practices.
- Prioritize tasks and recognize data from complex situations to determine care priorities.
- Develop relationships with families to advocate effectively for patient needs.
- Collaborate with patients and families to plan or update the care plan, using multidisciplinary resources.
- Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care.
- Read relevant journals and bring ideas to staff for practice improvement discussions.
