Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the Provider Builder, Clinical Support Analyst III position is part of the Operations & Technology Services Department. The Provider Builder, Clinical Support Analyst III, is a certified and Epic-trained provider, who collaborates with an assigned Clinical Analyst and Informaticist to implement site-specific changes. This role involves utilizing expertise to enhance Epic functionalities tailored to the site's specific needs. Furthermore, they oversee the self-study Epic Clinical Content Builder Proficiency program, enabling Nurses, MAs, hygienists, and behaviorists to acquire identical capabilities, fostering a collaborative approach to optimizing the Epic system within the clinical setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with staff training about EMR utilization during orientation, system implementation, and upgrades. Acts as a liaison between the client and vendor as subject matter expert (SME) during system development, upgrades, and resolves software issues.
- Creates and/or modifies system configuration of user and security management, preference list, provider master files, letters, printers, and other allowed functions. Creates clinical content, SmartList, SmartText, SmartForms, SmartSets, SmartPhares, Flowsheets, and other features as allowed by the vendor.
- Gathers requirements for application development. Also, creates and documents departmental processes and EHR workflows.
- Functions as subject matter expert about EHR specialization. Including leading EHR new orientation or upgrade training sessions regarding system workflows and features. Identifies application development problems utilizing basic or industry-accepted troubleshooting methods and documents problems and solutions within the ticketing system.
- Assists and/or develops basic reports for end users using workbench reporting.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or other related field.
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of experience working within a Health Care Environment.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a technical support role.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of clinical workflow as they pertain to end users' utilization of the EMR and other technical applications and devices.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
This is a Full Time | Grant-Funded position. Monday - Friday; 8 am - 5 pm. Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department or tasks requirements.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.
Physical Demands:
Some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time. Travel within Harris County will be required to support the end users as necessary.
