Overview
The Echo Technologist performs cardiac sonography examinations in a trauma hospital setting (requiring call rotation), demonstrating the skills and knowledge to assess technical data reflective of patient status relative to age and specific needs, and to assist in the interpretation of same, providing preliminary impressions as appropriate. Delivers quality, cost effective patient care in a professional manner. Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence, which is patient focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality patient care.
What you will do
- Performs cardiac sonography examinations. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice.
- Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Positions the patient and completes the procedure.
- Demonstrates commitment to safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of departmental policies, procedures, and resource documents.
- Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Follows RHS policies and procedures. Reports variances.
- Provides effective and efficient assessment, actions, and documentation.
Qualifications
Experience
- 1 year Imaging experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
- RDCS-AE Adult Echocardiography - Upon Hire (Required) or
- CCI-RCS Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Upon Hire (Required) and
- RDCS-PE Pediatric Echocardiography Upon Hire (Preferred)
