Job summary: The Nurse Educator is responsible for providing initial education, training, and competency assessment of newly hired nurses. In coordination with hospital leaders, the position is responsible for the ongoing continuing education necessary to maintain required competencies for all disciplines. Assists the Director of Education with the development of Continuing Education Programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides for and/or coordinates ongoing education needs for employees hospital-wide, including skills fairs, certifications, in-servicing, and the development of continuing education programs.
- Provides orientation for nurses and Patient Care Techs (CNAs, MAs, ED Techs) new to the organization.
- Provides orientation to students in nursing and allied health programs. Communicates with respective instructors to ensure requirements are met prior to clinical rotations.
- Identifies educational opportunities within the hospital system and formulates a plan, along with education, to close any educational gaps that were identified.

Qualifications:
- Current Nevada Registered Nurse license.
- MSN Preferred.
- 3 years of acute care clinical nursing experience.
- BLS required.
