We are seeking a dedicated, effective, and compassionate Addiction Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with substance use disorders and addiction-related health issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments for patients with substance use disorders
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices for addiction medicine
- Prescribe and manage medications for addiction treatment
- Provide ongoing continuity of care and transitions of care for patients with substance use disorders
- Diagnose and treat co-occurring mental health disorders in patients with substance use disorders
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Participate in patient education and counseling on substance use and addiction-related topics
- Teach fellows, residents, medical students and other health professional students in clinical settings
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in addiction medicine and incorporate them into practice
Qualifications
- Allopathic or osteopathic medical degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Addiction Medicine
- Board certification in primary medical specialty
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration and eligibility for an active, unrestricted Missouri license and BNDD registration
- Experience in diagnosing and treating patients with substance use disorders
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care
Additional Requirements
- Ability to perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and respond to medical emergencies[1]
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
