Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Hospitalist & Emergency Room Locum
An excellent opportunity has opened up for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage in west-central Wisconsin. This is a unique dual role, combining both hospitalist and emergency room responsibilities with a flexible schedule. What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing emergency care in an ER that sees up to 10k patients annually, with shifts from 11 am to 9 pm.
- Managing hospitalist care from 7 pm to 7 am, handling up to 1-2 admits per night and floor calls.
- Collaborating with ER physicians, who provide 24-hour support, during your shifts.
- Caring for med/surg patients with a maximum capacity of 21, typically managing 10-15 patients.
- Utilizing Cerner EMR.
About You and Your Experience:
- MSN, FNP, ACNP, ANP or Masters, PA-C with current WI license, ATLS, ACLS, and PALS (required due to pediatric bylaw).
- Comfortable working independently on hospitalist nights, with ER physician support as needed.
- Experience with both emergency and hospitalist settings, with the ability to adapt to patient volume variations.
