Occupational Health Nurse
Location: Charleston, South Carolina, US
Reporting to: Sr. EHS Manager

Job Overview
The Occupational Health Nurse will provide direct care services to employees on the job, host health promotion activities and programs, and provide workers’ compensation case management.
Main Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource on health matters, reviewing such items as physicians’ reports on employee health, workers’ compensation insurance claims, medical restrictions on employee work, and the policies and procedures of the medical department. Assists employees who are injured or become ill at work.
- Performs pre-employment health screening.
- Manages ergonomic program.
- Administers Post Accident, Reasonable Suspicion, and random drug and alcohol testing.
- Conducts health clinics including blood pressure screening, diabetes testing, and immunization clinics.
- Performs audiometric testing, respiratory protection program, and conducts fit testing, establishing baseline data and performing annual follow-up testing.
- Trains and offers medical supervision to company first-aid teams. Assists with the hearing conservation program and eye protection programs, assuring that protective equipment is appropriate and properly used.
- Establishes and maintains medical department records.
- Manages nurse’s clinic and medical supplies.
- Carries out studies and investigations on health or safety-related questions and prepares reports, summaries, and recommendations.
- Manage Medical Surveillance Programs.
- Manage Return To Work Program.
- Manage OSHA Log.
- Indirect supervision responsibilities to the Site First Aid Team.
- As Occupational Health Staff grows, the Occupational Health Nurse will provide supervision to LPN and/or EMT’s.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualification
- Registered nurse (RN) in the state required.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse.
- 3-5 Years Experience as an Occupational Health Nurse.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
