Brief Description of Job Responsibilities:
Provides mental health and psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis management of patients with mental health issues.
Specialized Responsibilities:

- Regular and ongoing collaboration with all Prevea Providers regarding management of patients or families regarding prevention, early identification, and treatment of mental or emotional problems.
- Assessment and management of patients as referred to Behavioral Care by Prevea Providers to facilitate access to appropriate behavioral care services either within Prevea Behavioral Care or other community agencies as needed.
- Provision of complete range of psychometric testing as requested by Prevea Providers and determined to be necessary through psychologist's assessments.
- Involvement in ongoing prevention, education, and consultation programs for the community and Prevea employees as requested by Behavioral Care Coordinator.
- Participation in development and implementation of Behavioral Care Programming.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge of principles and practices of clinical, counseling, rehabilitation or research psychology. Knowledge of current social and health problems related to psychological disorders. Knowledge of community resources and referral agencies. Knowledge of group dynamics. Skill in counseling. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Ability to evaluate, diagnose, treat and facilitate the commitment of patients. Ability to administer, score, interpret, and evaluate varied psychological data. Ability to write reports and document patient's progress.
Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology or related field.
- State Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and eligible for the Professional Psychologist Registry.
- Must have completed at least 3000 hours supervised post-graduate psychotherapy experience.
- Experience with medical systems and managed care systems preferred.
- Clinical membership in the American Psychological Association preferred.
