Length: 13 weeks
Call Requirement: Yes, call required
Weekend Requirement: every third weekend/4 weekend shifts per contract
Requirements:
- ME License
- 2 years experience required
- BLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate
- NICU experience preferred (Level II NICU – Special Care Nursery)
- Must be able to care for mother-baby couplets
- Admit and care for labor patients
- ACLS preferred
Traveler Experience: Unit does not accept first-time travelers
Locals Accepted: Does not accept candidates within 50 miles of facility
No float

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in labor and delivery and postpartum care. The postpartum nurse must be able to manage a 3 couplet assignment for a total of 6 patients, attend a delivery as a baby nurse and provide resuscitation and stabilization to the infant after delivery if needed. The candidate must be able to triage 1-2 labor patients, assume labor patients with 1:1 acuity including labor patients with hypertension and insulin-dependent diabetics.
