Non-Certified Histology Technician

Variable Shift and Hours per Department Need, 40 Hours/Week
Position Summary: The Histotechnologist/Histotechnician is responsible for meticulously preparing and staining tissue specimens for microscopic examination, supporting Pathologists in diagnostics. Tasks include frozen sections, embedding tissue, microtomy, and selecting optimal sections. The role involves operating and maintaining lab equipment, preparing solutions, and addressing technical challenges in tissue processing.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry (6 in each) from a regionally accredited college/university or completion of a NAACLS accredited HT or HTL program.
- One year of laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in a science-related field.
- Qualification for a NAACLS accredited HT or HTL program.
- One year full-time experience in a Histology Laboratory.
- Analytical skills for interpreting specimen preparation methods.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrating organizational skills and technical proficiency.
- Interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
- High level of professionalism in handling stressful situations.
